How Izzy dropped 8lb, gained insane confidence & completely changed her mindset

When Izzy came to me around 3 months ago she was also struggling to feel confident in her own skin. After the birth of her daughter around a year ago, she had found it very difficult to come to terms with how her body had changed and she desperately wanted to feel like her old self again.

Izzy had tried many different diets in the past. Slimming World, fasting among other restrictive diets would always leave her feeling low in energy and frustrated as she couldn't stick to it for long enough to get the results she was looking for. This led to her having a really poor relationship with food, scared that if she ate more she would gain weight.
This time things had to be different. We needed to create a plan that worked for her, that was tailored to her needs, her likes and dislikes as well as fitting in with her current, busy, lifestyle.
So we did just that.
We committed to training just 2x per week at the gym, focusing on full body movements that she enjoyed with the goal of getting stronger over time, this helped to build her confidence as exercise was now more focused around celebrating what her body could do rather than seeing it as a necessity to lose weight.
When it came to her nutrition the main goal was encouraging her to eat more than what she usually would when dieting. Years of over restriction and binge eating had led her to believe that less food is better if you're trying to lose weight, without realising that this approach was the main cause for her poor relationship with food.
We had to be very careful about counting calories as Izzy previously had an eating disorder, but with the right guidance and support we managed to overcome these barriers and create a much healthier relationship with food and eating.
Via my online coaching we were able to be in constant communication so that we could discuss any problems that would arise during our time together. Despite having a busy period with work, raising a young family as well as having social events to navigate, we've managed to make incredible progress which goes to show how valuable the right guidance, support and accountability are when it comes to achieving your goals.

3 months on from when she started and she’s managed to drop 8lbs of body fat as well as completely changing her mindset towards dieting.
She now enjoys the process and understands that losing weight is a choice and you have the power to change if you want to. Her relationship with food is in a much better place and she now realises that she can go for a meal out or a couple drinks with friends and still achieve her goals. She's recently added in a third gym session and increased her calorie intake to maintenance which would have been a scary thought not long ago.

Izzy’s hard work, willingness to learn and investment in herself is something that’s so inspiring to see. It goes to show that with the right guidance and support you can achieve things you never dreamed possible.
